Well, I've been much more active on DA these past few weeks, and I was getting tired of seeing my 7 month old journal post, so I decided to update and such.
I've been enjoying my summer so far, and I have several drawings lined up and ready to be displayed in my gallery. Yes, the motivation and inspiration to draw is all coming back to me! And mostly now I have lots of time on my hands (despite my new job at the movies), which is always good for imagination!
Depending on how fast I learn new coloring skillz form ~KuriosiT-kat I shall first be posting a fanart of Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz. I had started the drawing intending to make it a realistic portrait of his, based on a picture. However, seeing as I never had any art classes on realism, this proved to be wayyy too difficult for me... So instead I turned back to a style that I'm already much more comfortable with... Anime-style! So it pretty much turned into a half anime, half realistic style. It's comparable to my Bill Kaulitz fanart, but I realized that they're reversed in terms of what is anime and what is realistic-ish... Wow...that sounded confusing...
If I'm a little slower in the coloring department, that I shall first be posting my fanart of character Mikao from her Written in the Stars series. He is my favorite character, and I always wanted to be the first to do fanart of his! I would speak of it in more detail, but seeing as I have surprises, I won't say any more for now.... Although I can say that I'm very proud of how he turned out, because I actually managed to incorporate my own style into his looks (do I have a style at all yet? haha) and so it's not merely a copy.... because copies are boring, right?
And lastly... Thanks to random browsing in ~KuriosiT-kat favorites, I came across an amazing artist, *crookedsixpence . I'm not usually a gothic person myself, but I really do enjoy good horror/macabre stuff in moderation every now and then (like my Serial Experiments Lain obsession at one point). And I loved her stuff so much that it inspired me to create my own character to display in some of my art. Because I'm way too lazy to come up with a good story for a whole comic/series. But I'd still like to have a character of my own to put in my drawings and sceneries that have special meaning to me (or not xD). So I've been working on creating some sort of character, and sketches are coming up... Hopefully something more definite will show up soon in my gallery!
Well, that's all for now. Besides from being very artistically active in terms of art, I've also been playing quite a bit of guitar, and some piano... And I'm still making some AMVs so... I being so artistical, it's so good for the mind, and it's a GREAT change from all the sciences I've been doing in university! Until next time!
